I first began taking photographs ten years ago as a way to share stories of my growing family with others. The life stages of family, their unique experiences and connections have remained at the centre of my photography as I've developed my craft. Each moment in a parent or child's life is individual, memorable in different ways. It is these individual moments that I attempt to capture through the lens of my camera.
My experience as the mother of two energetic and creative girls has given me the insight and understanding to capture on film (or digitally) the bond between a couple, mother and child, father and child, siblings, grandparents….
Prior to working as a photographer I studied and taught dance. I believe my
love of physical expression enables me to help families and individuals feel
at ease during a photo shoot. In fact I look at photography as an extension
of my dance training in that I'm helping individuals move naturally, accept,
and be themselves in front of the camera.
